Trotting

Sir, —I would express my appreciation of the entertainment which the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club provided for all who attended the after-match meeting on Saturday night. Conditions were not what one would have desired, but there was cover for all. Hot meals and suppers were varied and good. The band on the lawn in front of the members’ stand is something which should always be provided. It is time those responsible realised they have at their disposal the best trotting course in Australasia and should make full use of its potential. The popularity of running races half-hourly should be an incentive to other clubs. Patrons and beer supporters would appreciate an improved semaphore board and the members’ car park is at present most unsatisfactory and in wet weather must be detrimental to attendances.— Yours, etc.,

GREAT EXPECTATIONS. August 29, 1966.
