More Skilled Mork Tried Finer, more skilled work, such as the manufacture of (various sizes of jewellery boxes, is being attempted by handicapped people employed by the Canterbury Sheltered Workshop. The secretary of the workshop (Miss C. E. Robinson) said that the work would help the workshop to thoroughly assess the capabilities of people who attended its classes. At present the workshop was used as an employment centre, an educational and training centre, and an occupational workshop. Although many of those probably would hold their jobs for an indefinite period, she said, many were unable to stand long hours, or the pace at which they were required to work.
