UPSET IN STAKES
(N Z.P..4 -Reuter—Copyright > YORK. Golden Horus caused a big upset when he won the Gimcrack Stakes at York. The 7/1 Golden Horus, ridden by .1. Mercer, finished two lengths ahead of the 9/2-on favourite, Falcon, ridden by L Piggott. Falcon, which had won his previous three races—all over five furlongs—never got clear, and the extra furlong of the race seemed too much for him.
