New Standard Required W.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Aug. 18. The council of the N.Z.I.E. has decided to adopt the examinations of the Council of Engineering Institutions of Great Britain in lieu of the examinations of the institutions of civil, mechanical and electrical engineers. This will begin in October next year. The council said today that the new examinations are set to an entirely new syllabus and represent a marked incqgase in the standard of academic knowledge required of the student. The New Zealand Institution of Engineers advises all those who are contemplating qualification by means of the institution’s examinations, to apply for copies of the new syllabus and details of the dates of change-over to the C.E.I. examinations.
