Sutton Beats Australian

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand national chess champion, R. J. Sutton, outwitted the Australian national champion, D. Hamilton, in a closely contested match in the sixth round of the Pacific zone international tournament in Auckland yesterday. Round six games completed were: R. J. Sutton (N.Z.) beat D. Hamilton (Aust.), Djamil Djamal (Indonesia) beat Tan Lian Seng (Singapore), O. Sarapu (N.Z.) beat Chan Ping Yuen (Hong Kong), R. Naranja (Philippines) beat Leonard Sitompul (Indonesia). The only game completed in round five which began on Saturday resulted in Sitompul beating Chan Ping Yuen. Four adjourned games from round five will be played this morning. The points now stand Naranja 4J, Hamilton 4, Sutton 3j, Sarapu, Djamil 3, Tan Lian Seng, Sitompul 2, Chan Ping Yuen Is, de Castro 1, Brent
