CLEAN AIR STUDY

W.E.A. Plans Course

The Workers' Educational Association has moved swiftly after the report on air pollution in Christchurch to arrange a study of clean air on the next five Monday evenings. Mr L. Wilkinson, of the Chemistry Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, will discuss air pollution and its environmental effects; Mr J. A. Hunter, officer in charge of meteorology at the Christchurch Airport, and Dr. K. Bourke, of the Health Department, will discuss effects in their fields; Dr. J. B. Stott, senior lecturer in chemical engineering at the University of Canterbury will talk about implications of fuel policy; and Mr J. Pollard, a chemical engineer, will speak on the costs and consequences of domestic space heating.

On the last evening some of these speakers will be joined by the City Engineer (Mr P. G. Scoular) and the District Electrical Engineer of the Electricity Department (Mr R. S. S. Meredith) for a panel discussion.
