W. Indians Trailing

(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) SWANSEA.

The West Indies needed 27 runs with three wickets standing to avoid the follow-on against Glamorgan after the second day of the three-day match yesterday. The touring side lost seven wickets for 161 in reply to Glamorgan’s first innings total of 337 for eight declared. Nearly four hours’ play was lost because of rain.

The most enterprising batting came from D. Holford, who hit two mighty sixes and seven fours in his 46, made in an hour.
