HUNTER MISSING
Urewera Search (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, July 31. A search will begin at dawn tomorrow for an experienced hunter from Hamilton who has been, missing in the Urewera country since Saturday afternoon. The missing man is Donald Murray Major, aged 28, of 26 Daleford street, Hamilton, married, with two children. Mr Major went into the bush east of Minginui at 10 a.m. yesterday with two other men. They separated to go hunting and were to have met at a hut at 3 p.m. Mr Major did not arrive..
His companions, Mr D. K. Corroll, of Hamilton, and Mr M. Warner, of Te Awamutu, stayed at the hut until noon today in the hope that Mr Major would return, then left for Rotorua to report to the police. Although Mr Major has no food he is well clothed and has a rifle land matches. Constable B. Bonnington, of the Rotorua police, with Mr Corroll, went into the bush this afternoon to stay the night at the hut. They will be joined tomorrow morning by a party of 11.
