N.Z.-Backed Rule Adopted /N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. A reversion of the five-yard play-the-ball rule was yesterday adopted by the International Rugby League Board. New Zealand and Australia sought the change from three to five yards and Britain opposed it France refrained from voting. Australia and New Zealand have been playing the fiveyard rule this season but all matches in Australia in which the Britain team has played have been under the International rule of three yards.
