Death In Tractor Accident

Mervyn lan Robert, aged 37, of Happy Valley, Motunau, was accidentally killed when the tractor he was driving overturned about 11 a.m. on June 27, it was said when the inquest into his death was concluded at Cheviot. The Coroner (Mr E. A. Lee, S.M.) found that death was a result of traumatic asphyxia caused by compression cf the chest by the overturned tractor. The accident occurred on the farm of Mr,C. N. Mackenzie. Evidence was given by Dr. B. F. Heywood, of Cheviot, Mr J. Delany, foreman of the Motunau Rabbit Board, who found the body about 10.30 p.m. on the day of the accident, and Constable H. C. Hollander.
