Parliament’s Diary
The Evidence Amendment Bill was read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee when Parliament resumed yesterday. The reports of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council and the Public Expenditure Committee were tabled. Mr R. M. Macfarlane (Opp., Christchurch Central) gave notice of his intention to introduce the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Bill. T n the Budget debate the speakers were:— Government: Mr W. H. Brown (Palmerston North), Mr E. P. Aderman (New Plymouth), Mr L. F. Sloane (Hobson), the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys), the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath), the Postmas-ter-General (Mr Scott), Mr H. J. Walker (St Albans). Opposition: Mr W. A. Fox (Miramar), Mr J. G. Edwards (Napier), Sir Eruera Tirikatene (Southern Maori).
