Garden Club’s Gifts
The St. Martins-Opawa Garden Club has agreed to give £5O to the Canterbury Horticultural Society and £5 to the Barnett Memorial Fund. Mesdames S. Spedding, F. Pohill and W. Taylor were elected honorary life members and Mrs C. Round was elected to associate member ship at the annual meeting. The patron (Mrs 0. Miller) made a presentation to the retiring secretary (Mrs S. Bell). Officers elected were.— Patron, Mrs Miller; president, Mrs A. Gallagher; vicepresident, Mrs H. Bliss; junior vice-president, Mrs D. Tarrant; secretary, Mrs A. Munro; treasurer, Mrs C. McKeegan; committee, Mesdames E. Johnson, A. Savage, D. Morse, R. Flatman, W. Brown, and D. Stevenson. Awards.—Miller Cup, for most points in decorative section, Mesdames O. Cox and E. Combellack; Robertson Cup, Mrs Cox. McAloon Cup, Mrs M. Whitwell. Batchelor Trophy, Mrs Combellack. Brant Trophy, Mrs Borrell. Winners of open sections, Mesdames Morse, Bliss, E. de Roo, Bell, Stevenson and Flatman.
