Collected £6000 In Savings

A man who, In 25 years, has collected £6OOO in savings from his fellow' employees at Wright Stephenson, Ltd., yesterday received a presentation from the Chief Postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson).

He is Mr W. D. Hamilton, who became honorary group agent for the National Savings scheme with the firm in 1941 and continued to record savings when a switch was made to the Thrift Club scheme in 1958. Mr Hamilton has been employed by Wright Stephenson, Ltd., for 42 years and will retire next year. As an agent for the Post Office Savings Bank he has record service. The Chief Postmaster said the Post Office appreciated Mr Hamilton’s services and the support of the firm since 1941. Some of the staff members who joined the scheme in 1941 were still employed by the firm. Total monthly contributions had grown from £8 to £6O. '
