Sihanouk Offer Considered

(N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, June 20. The Thai Foreign Minister, Mr Thanat Khoman, said yesterday that he would “consider seriously” the proposal of the Cambodian Head of State, Prince Norodom Sihanouk to re-establish diplomatic relations with Thailand. “I think it is about time that Prince Sihanouk should go back to the path of sanity,” he was quoted by the “South China Morning Post” as saying. Mr Khoman made the remark during a brief stay in Hong Kong on his way to Bangkok after attending the ministerial conference for Asia and Pacific co-operation in Seoul. According to the newspaper, Mr Khoman said Thailand would like to restore its relations with Cambodia if Prince Sihanouk respected the Thai border. He would consider the Cambodian proposal “if it is put forward sincerely and seriously.”
