The Budget

Sir,—“F.W.P.F.” is right as the Budget is the most insipid one ever presented. It was not dynamic like the Labour ones of Mr Nash and Mr Nordmeyer. The “socialist cotton wool” referred to by “F.W.P.F?’ is the 40-hour week, full employment, and social security: and Labour gave us these in spite of bitter Tory opposition. The workers received no relief as they do not get Incentives as do their employers and farmers. Clean political air will come to the House on the Hill when Labour gets in this’year, as it will open the windows and let in progress as it did in 1935 and 1957. Yours, etc, DISILLUSIONED NATIONALIST. June 20, 1966.
