Parliament’s Diary
In the busiest first working day of a session for many years. Parliament yesterday dealt with a total of 23 bills.
Proceedings opened with members standing in silence as a mark of respect for five members of the House or the Legislative Council who had died since last session. The defence review was tabled.
After discussing the House Buyers’ Protection Bill, a private measure sponsored by Mr W. A. Fox (Opp., Miramar), the House discussed the report of the Lands and Agriculture Committee on noxious animals control. This was uncompleted when the House rose until 7.30 p.m. Tuesday.
