Local Body Loans
Mr R. L. T. Sandford yesterday amplified his remarks at the Christchurch Drainage Board’s meeting on the new interest rates for local body loans. He said he had intended to say that an extra } per cent on the board’s normal loan raising of £600,000 plus the estimated £500,000 for sewage treatment plant extensions, would represent an extra £lOO,OOO over 35 years. The money could only come from the ratepayers, he said.
