More Traffic Lectures

Last year traffic education lectures, apart from court school and motor-cycle club training programmes, were given to 93 city groups comprising 3130 persons, says the Christchurch City Council Traffic Superintendent (Mr J. F. Thomas) in his annual report. This compared with 64 groups and 2092 persons the year before, and 45 groups and 1592 persons in 1963. The traffic court school, of three two-hour lectures in each course, had been attended by 216 persons ordered by the courts to be present. Only 5 per cent of those directed to attend had been apprehended for offences since completing their courses.
