Bobbinet Fit For Auckland
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Bobbinet could be a formidable contender for the big races at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting next week-end after a decisive victory at the Kumeu club's matinee at Alexandra Park on Saturday. Bobbinet led all the way in the feature event, the Gordon’s Free-for-all. Her officia winning margin was a length and a half, but it looked much bigger. Oakhampton beat Great Adllos by three-quarters of a length for second and then came Soanga Boy, Caledonian Scott, Gaelic Prince, Professional Globe, Spring Legs, Henwood’s Pride. Rekab ant Douglas. Bobbinet failed narrowly to earn the £49 bonus prize for a time of 2mln ssec or faster. She clocked 2mdn 5 l-ssec, the last half-mile in Intin 2 l-ssec. and the quarter in 3lsec. Oakhampton ran a great race after being slow away, but Great Adies was a little disappointing. although he was not driven out. Soanga Boy ran well considering he is on only 2ntin 14sec. Now a member of D. N. Hayes team, he could be a good prospect for the Auckland meeting. Our Luck took the honours in the Free-for-all for trotters She sprinted clear nearing the home turn and won as she like' from Scotliegh and her stablemate, Our Eileen. TROT TO OUR LUCK Our Luck and Our Eileen are both trained by E. C. Hare. There seems little doubt that the combination will be a warm favourite for the major trots at the Auckland meeting. The other races were won by

Gay Eden, a candidate for thParakai Stakes next Saturday was especially Impressive. Among those he beat off leve marks were Viking Water and Scottish Eden, both of whirl, would give him a big start in an ordinary handicap race. An American offer of 40,000 dollars has been refused by the owners of the smart pacer Herby Tryax. Ho is raced by three Aucklanders, Messrs W. J. Cuthbert, J. W. Cameron and J. C. Kay. Mr Cuthbert said at Alexandra Park on Saturday that he and his partners “would not con aider selling Herby Tryax al this stage.”
