I Kauai King Wins • (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) i LOUISVILLE (Kentucky. Mr M. Ford’s Kauai King, , ridden by.D. Drumfield, won the ninety-second Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Kauai King led his 14 rivals ; a merry chase throughout and : hung on grimly to win by half a length. The Maryland-bred colt avenged the defeat of his sire, Native Dancer, which suffered the only defeat of his career when he was second •J
to Dark Star in the 1953 Derby. Kauai King beat Advocator and Blue Skyer finished third of the 15 starters. Stupeodmiß was fourth.
