76th Annual Meeting

Addressing the seventysixth annual meeting of the Canterbury Druids* Friendly Society on Saturday the outgoing president (Brother S. G. Jenkins) congratulated the society on having increased its membership, and thanked many members for their help add enthusiasm.

Forty-two delegates from the Canterbury Jurisdiction and representatives from the North Island, Otago, and Southland jurisdictions attended. Officers elected were:— Grand president, Brother R. R. Aitken; grand vice-presi-dent, Brother F. A. Britton; junior past grand president, Brother S. G. Jenkins; grand guardian. Brother N. G. Milne; grand treasurer, Sister G. Hood; board of management, Brothers S. A. Millar, L. Franks, S. J. Barnett, S. Pycroft, K. W. Davis, R. A. Brears and B. W. Keast; judicial appeal committee, Brothers J. Porter, K. L. Honey, P. S. Corkin, J. N. Havord and C. G. Jack. Members held their annual church parade yesterday. They assembled outside the Druids* building in Manchester street and marched in full regalia to St Paul’s Presbyterian Church, escorted by the City of Christchurch Highland Pipe Band. The service was conducted by the Rev. L. Jones.
