PRODUCTION CUTBACKS
U.S. Car Plants On Short Time (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DETROIT, May 8. General Motors Corporation said that all 23 of its car assembly plants will be working tomorrow, but st least one plant is scheduled for a short week.
The announcemenet came after production cutbacks at four of the plants last week. A corporation spokesman said decisions on cutbacks are made on a day-to-day basis by agreement with the unions and declined to comment on the possibility that more plants would close late next week.
