76 Years A Journalist

(N.Z. Press Association) TAUMARANUI, May 8. A journalist who had been working continuously for 76 years retired from editorial and reporting work on his ninety-sixth birthday yesterday. He is Mr William Thomas, a director of the “Taumarunui Press,” who began his journalistic career on the “Otago Daily Times?’ Mr Thomas is in good health, and believes that he has the capacity to reach 100. His mother died in Dunedin in 1952 at the age of 102.
