UNIVERSITY VACANCIES MASSEY UNIVERSITY OF MANAWATU PALMERSTON NORTH SENIOR LECTURER OR LECTURER IN CLINICAL PATHOLOGY APPLICATIONS from suitably qualified persons are invited for the above position in ' the Department of Animal Health. Applicants must have a degree in Veterinary Science or Science; with experience in Clinical Pathology and interest in Chemical Pathology and/or Haematology and an interest in the application of Clinical Biochemical methods to Veterinary Clinical diagnosis. The successful applicant would be responsible for undergraduate teaching; for developing research in this field and for the organisation of Clinical Pathology services to the Veterinary Clinics. It is also envisaged that the application of Clinical Biochemical methods in veterinary medicine would be developed. The Department includes Veterinary Pathology. Microbiology and Parasitology and is responsible for teaching these subjects in the Veterinary faculty. Salary: Lecturer, £l3OO to £2OOO p.a. (x £100). Senior Lecturer, £2lOO to £2500 p.a. (x £100). AT NORTH TERRACE: LECTURER IN BOTANY (Plant Physiology) Preference will be given to candidates with interests in the physical rather than the biochemical aspects of physiology, but applications from any physiologists will be considered. LECTURER IN BOTANY (Any branch except Mycology) The most suitable applicant will be appointed, irrespective of field of specialisation. The Department does not, however, wish to develop facilities for Mycology, since such facilities already exist at the Waite Agricultural Research Institute (Department of Plant Pathology). B. AT THE WAITE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE: SENIOR LECTURER IN PLANT PHYSIOLOGY Preference may be given to a candidate whose qualifications and interests are in whole plant physiology. Salary Scales: Senior Lecturer A 6500-220-7600 dollars; Lecturer A4BOO-220-6340 dollars; with superannuation on the F.S.S.U. basis. In each case initial salary will be fixed within the appropriate scale in accordance with qualifications and previous experience.
