(N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 5.

An alert woman who may be the oldest European in New Zealand will celebrate her one hundred and fourth birthday at the Rangimarie Home, New Plymouth, tomorrow.

Among the congratulatory telegrams to be received by Miss Levillia Baskerville will be one from the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and Mrs Holyoake.

The event will be marked by a quiet party at the home given by the Taranaki Hospital Board and her relatives. The distinction of being the country’s oldest person almost certainly belongs to Mrs Rawinia Taitimu, of Orakei. Auckland, who is thought to be approaching her one hundred and fifteenth birthday.
