At a meeting of the New Zealand Football Association, Mr P. D. Osten said that the New Zealand Junior Council was seeking permission from the national body to arrange the tour. The N.Z.F.A. put the proposal on the agenda for the association’s council meeting on May 13. Mr Osten said the idea was to select a national team from the under-18 age group, which would go to England over the Christmas period for an intensive training course under the guidance of a football club. The Auckland F.A. was granted permission to negotiate with the Italian soccer club, Roma, to play one game in Auckland. The Italian club is making a tour of Australia this year.
