Ho Warns U.S.
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) CAIRO, April 29. The North Vietnam President, Ho Chi Minh, said in an interview published in Cairo yesterday that United States action to expand the Vietnam war would be “like someone drinking poison to quench thirst.” Asked in an interview with the weekly, “Almuss Awar,” if he thought it likely the United States would land troops in North Vietnam or become involved with China, President Ho said: “If the American Imperialists dare send troops to North Vietnam or contemplate more serious military adventures . . . they would be behaving like someone drinking poison to quench thirst.” The President said that in spite of differences between the Soviet Union and China, they stood as one man in support of the Vietnamese people.
