“Meal Tickets”
"Meal tickets” worth the equivalent of a child’s meal would again be available for purchase by North Canterbury school children during the annual Rice Bowl appeal, said the organiser (Mr E. E. Booth). The same design and size as tickets used in street day appeals, the meal tickets are sold for 6d—enough to buy one meal for a starving child. A total of 50.000 tickets will be printed. It was hoped that the children would purchase them with money they had earned, and wear them during the week of the appeal. May 27—June 3, Mr Booth said.
