Sir,—The only right idea Hitler had was to recognise communism as his potential challenger for world power, and equal to himself in evil design. What imagination to say that but for American management, Germany could have been reunited, neutral, and disarmed. The drawn-out crisis conditions are really a subtle weapon against us, to weaken our wills and faith in ourselves. Actually it is communism playing for time—their time. As with Hitler, there is method in their madness, and the issue is yet to be resolved. It is surely no coincidence that the mental health of innocent peoples has deteriorated, considering the long ride we have been taken. As President Kennedy said, you can talk to them, but never get through to them. Most of the time we can’t even talk.—Yours, etc., CLARION CALL. April 27, 1966. Sir,—l thank Mr Cashion for his suggestion, but prefer not to wait till beyond the crematorium to understand why de Gaulle is today the strong man of Europe, and not just another sick one. Can Mr Cashion be informative?—Yours, etc., A. B. CEDARIAN. April 28, 1966.
