First Races Of Season Christchurch club riders took part in Papanui's events when cycling clubs held their opening days in fine weather on Saturday. Papanul held three grade races over 15 miles and Avon two. Avon also held a six-mlle boys’ race. Resulta:— PAPA HU I A Grade.—R. D. Mann 1, P. A. Skilling 2, H. Bedford 3, R. Hogan 4. Time, 35:33. Argentine Single!.—Gail Sherriff. an AuetraMan, scored one of the beet wins of her career on Sundya. She toppled Norma Bayion, of Argentina, to take the women’s singles title of the Argentine tennis championships.
