The Nestles club four from Warrnambool, representing Victoria, beat the New Zealand crew by two lengths in the women's Inter-Domlnlon fouroared race, rowed on the Yarra river In Melbourne on Saturday. Nestles finished second to the New Zealanders in the Australian title race In Adelaide last Sunday, but displayed much better form on the fast-flowing Yarra. leading all the way. A member of the New Zealand crew caught a crab near the finishing post when It was alleged she struck a piece of floating wood in the river, but the Victorians -at the time had a length lead and appeared to have them well covered, E. Crales, coach of the New Zealand crew, was very upset after the race. He said the starter sent the crews on their way very much short of the 1000 metres post, from where the race was to have been started.
