Where one child of a family is attending the school, the fee will be £2 a year or 15s a term. For two child- ■ ren, the fee will be £3 a year ’ or 22s 6d a term, and three or more children from the ; one family attending the school, the fee will be £3 15s ( or 30s a term. ’ The old figures were £3, £3 10s, and £4 respectively. ; The headmaster (Mr A. J. ! Gainsford) told the board ' that the fees had been in- : creased two years ago to as- : sist with finance for the new ' gymnasium. At that time, he said, an assurance had been given that they would be re- ( duced again as soon as appropriate. The reduction was now possible. “Our fees are now quite modest,” he said. ‘They compare more than favourably with other schools in Christchurch.”
