CREDITORS MEET

Bankrupt Not Present “Entirely unsatisfactory" was the description by the Official Assignee (Mr T A. F. Withers) .of. the uncompleted statement of affairs filed by David Tyler, and put before a meeting of his creditors on’ Tuesday. In his statement the bankrupt gave his unsecured creditors as £1855. but did not include any other details. He did not attend the meeting. Tyler had been in business in Christchurch as a grocer. Tyler tried to file in bankruptcy in Christchurch, but was not allowed to do so. as he did not meet the residential requirements, Mr Withers said. He had therefore filed in Wanganui, and the Wanganui Official Assignee had sent the file to Christchurch. The meeting agreed that “endeavours be made to have the bankrupt at a future meeting of creditors, and that, failing this, the file be placed in the hands of the Crown Solicitor with a view to prosecution.” Mr Withers then adjourned the meeting sine die.
