Surtees Back In Racing
6N.Z.P.A. Reuter—Copt/right> MODENA, (Italy). John Surtees, Britain’s former world motor-racing champion, marked his return to the wheel after his crash in Canada last September, by unofficially breaking the Modena’ track record. Driving a 2500 c.c. Italian Ferrari, he covered the limile lap in a practice run in 54.65ec, at an average speed of 97.27 m.p.h.
