’Phone Directories’ Distribution

The distribution of new telephone directories in Christchurch and district would begin some time after Anzac Day, the Chief Postmaster (Mr J. W. Lincoln) said yesterday. More than 120,000 directories would be sent to about 70,000 subscribers, including business establishments which, in many cases, would occur just before the opening of the new exchange at Harewood and the eut-over of the Islington and Halswell exchanges. The distribution is timed to receive several copies.
