Clark Wins At Sydney (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright > SYDNEY, February 13. The champion New Zealand racing driver, J. Palmer, gave a disappointing performance to finish sixth in the first of the four Australian Tasman Cup motor races at Warwick Farm today. Palmer, driving a Lotus 328 Climax, covered the 45 laps in 72 minutes and 28.0 sec, one minute and 24.45ec behind the winner, the world champion. J. Clark, of Scotland. Two other New Zealand drivers, D. Mai-wood and R. Levis, finished 10th and 11th respectively. Both were lapped. Result: — Tasman champion international “100,” 101.25 miles: J. Clark (Britain) Lotus 39 Climax 71min 3.65ec.. G. Hill (Britain) B.R.M. 71min 24.5 sec 2; F. Gardner (Australia) Repco-Brabham-Climax 72min 2.Bsec 3; J. Stewart (Britain) B.R.M. 72min 18.4 sec 4, S. Martin (Australia) Repco-Brab-ham-Climax 72min 23.1 sec 5, J. Palmer (New Zealand) Lotus 328 Climax 72min 28.0 sec 6. Winner’s speed, 85.44 miles per hour. Fastest lap: J. Clark (Britain) Imin 34.0 sec, 86.17 miles per hour.
