Rescued From River
A two-year-old boy who was seen floating in the water at the mouth of the Waimakariri river on Saturday afternoon was rescued by fishermen, and after a few minutes of artificial resuscitation he revived.
Men fishing from the bank saw what they thought was a piece of wood floating down the river about 3.30 p.m. They then saw it was a child facedown in the water and pulled him out. His parents arrived for him soon after he came round.
