Canterbury.—Moderate variable winds; cloudy and very warm, with rain developing in the Alps. Outlook: scattered rain.

Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate to fresh northerly winds; cloudy and warm, with scattered rain about Nelson, later spreading to the northern sounds. Outlook: showers.

Buller and Westland.—Moderate winds from a northerly quarter; dull and mild, with rain at times. Outlook: further rain.
