Church Broken Into
A window was smashed when the St George’s Presbyterian Church, on the corner of Gloucester street and Lanwood avenue, was broken into on Tuesday night The church hall was also entered, and a window broken, but nothing was stolen from the buildings. Eighteen chickens were stolen from Modern Age Caterers, 468 Moorhouse avenue. the same night. A Wen pistol-type soldering iron, valued at £5, was stolen from Haskins Garage, 20 Harewood
road, which was broken into on Sunday night Property worth £5l 9s was stolen from the Nottingham Food Centre, Nottingham avenue, when it was broken into on Monday night.
The sum of £5 was stolen from the Patty Pan Fish Shop, 202 A Papanui road, and £1 10s from the Celeste Gift Shop, 211 Papanui road, which were also broken into on Monday night.
Two telephones were stolen from the Hagley Park Golf Club, which was broken into on Monday night.
