RHODESIAN SUPPORT
Meeting Of Movement An outline of the historical background to the Rhodesian situation, and comment on it, will be given by Mr J. K. Collins, of Christchurch, at a Christchurch meeting of the Aid to Rhodesia Movement on Saturday. Mr Collins returned to New Zealand last August after visiting Rhodesia.
Mr J. R. Firth, vice-chair-man of the New ZealandRhodesia Society, will also speak at the meeting. The society was formed in Auckland last month to disseminate information on Rhodesian affairs. Mr Collins said yesterday that the Aid to Rhodesia Movement, headed by Lieu-tenant-Colonel A. C. R. Elderton, began a week after Rhodesia’s declaration of independence. Its purpose was to present as wide a viewpoint of Rhodesian affairs as possible. Having spent some time in Rhodesia he felt it his duty to let people know there, were two sides to the story, j “At the meeting I propose to , give my impressions and ven-j tune some sober reflections| and opinions.” '
