Death While Surfing

A man collapsed and died in the surf at South Brighton teat evening. He wm:

James Tracy McAlister, of 9 Dyers road.

Mr McAlister wee swimming just south of the South Brighton Surf Life-Saving Club building. He apparently caught a wave a short distance offshore and rode it in towards the beech. He then stood up in about three feet of water and collapsed. Mr McAlister was pulled to the shore, where surf dub members unsuccessfully applied artificial resuscitation.
