CRUSADE IN SAIGON

N.Z. Man One Of Speakers (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 20. At the invitation of the Asian Evangelist Commission the Rev. B. Reed, leader of the People’s Church and Auckland Wayside Mission, will leave by air on February 1 on a four-month tour which will include Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia. Mr Reed will represent New Zealand as one of the main speakers in the Saigon Evangelistic Crusade from April 2 to 10. Evangelists from Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and India will also attend. Mr Reed has been asked to remain in Vietnam for six weeks to assist in other evangelistic meeting arranged by the National Church of Vietnam. Mr Reed hopes to visit New Zealand troops. “1 want to see for myself what is going on in Vietnam. New Zealand is committed there and I want to assess the situation as it affects this country,” he said.
