Man Hit With Piece Of Wood (N.Z. Press A ssociation) AUCKLAND. Jan. 6. A man received 30 stitches in his head after being hit by a piece of wood with a [screw in the end, Sergeant D. E. Henderson told Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., today when Fanahemotu Tuisimenini, aged 32, a workman, pleaded guilty to a charge of injuring a man with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Sergeant Henderson said the incident occurred after the men had been drinking. The injured man had been admitted to hospital. His condition had been serious but was now satisfactory. Sergeant Henderson said the accused claimed he was goaded into the argument. He denied trying to kill the complainant. The Magistrate convicted Tuisimenini and remanded him till January 12 for sen-; fence.
