WARNING TO U.S.

Black Sea Activity

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MOSCOW, Jan. 6. The military newspaper "Red Star” said today Russia had warned the United States to stop what it called "dangerous provocations” in the Black Sea area. It claimed there had been unusual American military activity in that area lately and drew attention to a United States 857 that disappeared there on December 14.

The fate of the plane and its two crewmen is unknown but the United States Defence Department has discounted a possibility that it was shot down by Russians.
