BUTTER FALLS
Drop Of 10s Per Cwt ' (Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, Jan. 5. The price of New Zealand butter has fallen in London by 10s per cwt to 312 s per cwt. Australian butter has also fallen by 10s to 304 s per cwt. A Tooley Street source said today the drop was caused by heavy stocks and low trade. This is the first fall in the price of New Zealand butter since June of last year. At that time the price had fallen 28s per cwt in seven weeks But up until this week there had been no further movements.
The N.Z.P.A. special correspondent says that discussions on butter quotes for toe -12 months beginning April 1 are expected to begin in London late this month or early in February.
