HANOI VISIT

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) MOSCOW, Dec. 29. A Soviet delegation led by high-ranking Communist Party leader, Alexander Shelepin, will visit the North Vietnam capital of Hanoi shortly, the official Soviet news agency Tass, announced last night.

In Tokyo, a monitored North Vietnam News Agency report said the delegation would arrive soon in Hanoi at the invitation of the Government and the Workers (Communist) Party. There was no immediate explanation of the purpose of the trip. But observers said it obviously seemed connected with the Vietnam war. It appeared valid to speculate that Mr Shelepin might press President Ho Chi Minh to agree to negotiate with the United States, but might also be con nected with aid to North Vietnam.
