Award Made To Scouts

(N.Z. Press Association)

DANNEVIRKE, Dec. 29 The Chief Scout’s commendation for meritorious conduct have been awarded two Norse wood scouts. The two boys are Alan and Colin Fink, both pupils of the Dannevirke High School, who received the award in recognition of their action at the scene of a road accident on the main Napier-Wellington highway on October 6. The boys freed a seriously injured man who was trapped in his car after it had collided with a school bus. They also assisted the man who had a fractured skull and broken leg until an ambulance arrived.

The awards will be made at a camp fire in Dannevirke early in the new year.
