Gr ound-T o-Air Missile Bases

Three ground-to-air missile bases have been completed in southern Japan with 36 launchers deployed. American-made Nike Ajax missiles for the launchers have been airlifted from Tokyo and installed at the three bases—Ashiya, Tsuiki and Koradai. on Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost main island. The new missile defence system is the second completed in Japan in addition to a similar system around Tokyo.
