Slight Easing In Lamb
After a moderate inquiry early last week on the Smithfield Market, London, for heavy quantities of carcass meat, trading concentrated on Christmas poultry and pork, says the Meat Board’s information service.
Moderate pitchings of New Zealand lamb sold quietly, with some slight easing in prices.
New season’s New Zealand lamb was quoted at 30 jd to 31d per lb for 281 b and under, and 28Jd to 29d per lb for 29/361b. There was a slow inquiry for New Zealand mutton at nominal prices. The main grade of wethers (49/561b) sold at 15d per lb, and ewes at lOjd per lb. Price Range Quotations for New Zealand lamb were:— Prime—
