A brilliant 184 not out by the Manawatu batsman, J. Herbert, was the feature of the second day's play in the Central Districts colts’ cricket tournament yesterday. Herbert punished ail of the combined Taranaki - Wanganui bowlers and scored 138 of Ms runs in the two-hour pre-lunch session. Results:

Manawatu - HorowhenuaRangitikel 348/5 dec. beat Tara-naki-Wanganui 237 and 263, by 111 runs on the first innings. Wairarapa MarlboroughNelson 36s 4 dec. beat Hawke's Bay 172 and 85, by an innings and ill runs.
